I was in need (to put it mildly) of a dressing for extremely raw, cracked, and sore skin on my palms, wrists, soles, heels, and sides of my feet. My skin barrier became heavily compromised, leading to painful fissures that were constantly being reinjured during daily tasks like cooking, cleaning, and walking the dog. 😭I researched many hydrocolloid bandages and tried a few, but others were too textured or gummy. They rolled up when you cut them because the backing was like playing a game of ‘Where’s Waldo’ every time—and for someone with short nails who needs glasses to see up close, oh my! Plus, they literally didn’t stay in place; if worn under socks or gloves, they rolled up as soon as you put your hand or foot in. They also came off when they got wet, so they’d fall off in the shower or while washing hands. I cannot believe I thought they were acceptable. Then I got this, and, comparatively, there is no contest.This Medical Grade, Extra Large Hydrocolloid Bandage Roll stands out in every way. 🥇Most importantly, 👉 the backing has a border larger than the tape, making it easy to peel even when your hands are compromised. 👌 That’s the ticket right there! And even if the edges curl slightly, after cutting, they uncurl easily to flatten out, and… the tape stays put, which is what you need! It holds up under gloves and doesn’t get soggy or fall off if it gets wet. The sheets are clear, flexible, and you can easily cut-to-size, whether you need it to obscure a scar, or if (like me) you need it for larger areas on hands and feet that see a lot of friction. They are everything! 🙏The photos show (several months) of healing so far, so I wasn’t exaggerating about the state of my skin.Honestly, I was wondering if this tape would help because I’m my previous routine was to slather my hands in Vaseline to prevent water loss because I thought it was the go-to. However, this tape does what it cannot do; in that it creates a protective, moist environment without suffocating the skin, reduces pain from friction, and supports actual tissue repair rather than just covering it. Plus, it’s so much cleaner and less messy than using thick emollients that stick to your clothes and sheets. 😝 This tape handles real-life use and remains comfortable. Hands-down and feet-down (pun intended), this roll beats every other brand I’ve tried.
