Requires a finer grind vs. my regular beans but not terrible.

EDIT: I’ve not emptied the bean hopper of these beans and my last few cups have been much better. I think the grind setting really mattered here, and required a finer grind to get anything close to the intensity that I’m used to. My machine’s instructions say that grind adjustments may not be noticed until a few drinks are made so that tracks with my experience here. It’s still not my favourite coffee but my criticisms below may not be totally founded. We use a bean-to-cup espresso machine and have had pretty great results with almost everything we’ve put in it. I’m really happy using Kirkland’s espresso beans and sometimes get something a bit pricier as a treat.I don’t know all that much about coffee so just kind of mess around with different stuff. When I opened this bag I was struck at both the lack of aroma and how incredibly dry the beans are. I’ve never had any beans that had a completely matte finish to them — like there’s no oil. Perhaps somebody who knows better might see this as confirmation of a bad batch or of this is normal for this bean/roast.Anyways, I ordered this thinking it might be better than Kirkland but was still priced really reasonably. Wrong. It is very weak (8 out of 10 intensity!?) and what flavour it does have isn’t very good. I’ve had it a few times now and have tried more and/or finer grinds and it’s drinkable I guess but I can’t fathom why anybody would buy this stuff. I know the brand has a good rep so I’ve updated my ‘subscribe and save’ subscription to try one of Lavazza’s other offerings next month. This bag is likely to end up in the compost as I’ve gone from enjoying my morning coffees to drinking them for the caffeine content.

Smooth everyday coffee with a rich crema

I’ve been using Lavazza Crema e Aroma for a while now, and it’s become my go-to for daily coffee. It’s a medium roast that delivers a really nice balance. Smooth, creamy, and not too bitter. The aroma when you grind the beans is amazingly rich and nutty, with just a hint of chocolate. I love it.The name “Crema e Aroma” fits perfectly, because it really does produce a beautiful crema, especially when used with an espresso machine. The texture is velvety, and the flavor feels refined compared to most supermarket blends. That said, if you prefer very strong or dark roasts, this one might feel a little too mild. It’s not as intense or punchy as Lavazza’s darker blends like Super Crema. I’d describe it as more balanced and smooth, which makes it ideal for milk-based drinks like cappuccinos or lattes. However I also like it for a gentle espresso. It also works great for moka pot, espresso, or fully automatic machines, and the beans grind evenly without clogging the grinder nor feeling oily.In the end, It’s a high-quality Italian coffee brand that’s easy to drink and consistent every time. Very happy with it, to the point I’ve set it up on subscription so I never run out.

☕ A Coffee That Balances Boldness and Comfort

I’ve gone through plenty of different coffee beans over the years, but this Lavazza Crema e Aroma stands out for how adaptable it is. Opening the bag, the beans have a rich, earthy aroma that immediately feels inviting—deep but not overwhelming. Grinding them fresh makes a noticeable difference; you can actually see the consistency of the beans, which are well-roasted without any oily residue that sometimes clogs grinders.Brewed as a straight coffee, it carries a full body with a smooth, almost velvety texture. There’s a nice balance here: strong enough to wake you up, but without that bitter edge that pushes some medium roasts into harsh territory. The crema is thick and persistent, which is a good sign of quality—especially if you’re using an espresso machine.Where it really shines for me is in a latte. With milk, the flavor rounds out beautifully, giving you that café-style creaminess at home. The color is spot-on for a proper latte, and the taste holds its own against the milk instead of disappearing. It feels like a versatile everyday coffee—one you can use for straight shots, americanos, or milk drinks without compromise.✅ Verdict: 5/5 — A reliable, flavorful bean that makes everything from a morning espresso to a silky latte feel elevated. Perfect for anyone who wants consistent quality without fuss. ☕

Great Everyday Coffee with Smooth Flavor and Good Crema

I’ve been buying this Lavazza Crema e Aroma whole bean coffee regularly, and it’s one of my favorite everyday options. The flavor is smooth, balanced, and not too bitter, which makes it easy to drink every day.I use it mainly for espresso and milk drinks, and it produces a nice crema and consistent results. It also works well for morning coffee when I want something reliable and not too strong. The 1 kg bag is a good value and lasts a long time. The beans are fresh and grind well, and I’ve had consistent quality each time I’ve ordered it.Overall, this is a great choice if you’re looking for a dependable medium roast that works well for espresso and regular coffee. I will keep buying it.
